Aww, that's fab - hopefully a wonderful summer ahead.

Iirc you said you fell for Mary from one look at a photo, and I can absolutely see why. Traditional cobs are really not my sort of horse but I would happily have Mary - there is something very special about her

Lovely pic and a great start to Mary's education! She has such a kind eye, you both look so happy together and her fluffy ears are just adorable

Thank you! Keeping everything crossed for a scorching hot summer and lots of chances to get out and about with her!

That's right! I'd never been a cob person before, but I knew that if I was going from two horses to three, I needed something reasonably cheap to keep and relatively low maintenance, so I thought a nice cob rather than my usual Thoroughbred/ISH type would fit the bill. I looked half-heartedly for a few months with no intention to buy at that point, but nothing particularly appealed to me until I saw Mary. She was completely the wrong age, but something in those photos made me think of my first horse, Alice, even though she looked nothing at all like her. She had the same kind eyes so I just knew I was going to have her. Phoned up that evening, viewed her the next day, and had her delivered the day after that

Great news, well done. Remember, whatever you decide to do the aim is to enjoy it. You are the only judge of how much or little to do with your horse. Forget any armchair critics - they are just jealous of you enjoying yourself with whatever you do.
